Transition to a Dynamic Energy Future

Making the customer a partner: Customers changing the landscape of the energy industry while connecting distributed generation and implementing energy efficiency. As a consequence, electricity demand is flattening, changing the dynamic on capital costs and electricity rates. It is already possible to see demand for power decoupling from GDP growth. Utilities now face the challenge of managing demand decline.

Changes in policy, regulation and technology are also driving the electric power towards a more customer-centric, cleaner and distributed future. This panel will examine the evolution in the roles of multiple stakeholders, such as customers, utilities, and investors and will explore the industry transformations in policy that are facilitating third-parties to play an increasingly larger role in this transformation.
