Daniel Baruch is currently the AVP of Energy Research at the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP). GARP is a non-for-profit association helping to develop leaders within the risk management community. Previously, Daniel was the AVP, Portfolio Manager for Multi-Asset Alternative Investments with AllianceBernstein and worked on the Natural Gas Liquid & Gasoline Trading Desk at Glencore. Daniel's responsibilities at Glencore included performing market research and historical / forward analysis based on economic fundamentals and market trends for commercial decisions. While at Glencore, Daniel developed a Propane / WTI crack time spread strategy that generated $18M in revenue. He was also instrumental in determining that the Petrochemical business would be a viable and lucrative endeavor to expand Glencore's footprint, resulting in a PetChem Trading Desk being established in Houston. Prior to joining Glencore, Daniel worked as a Commodities Valuation Analyst at Morgan Stanley, assessing valuation risks associated with the firm's Natural Gas, Electricity, Coal and Emissions trading desks, as well as strategic deals. Daniel graduated with honors from Bentley University, where he double majored in Economics / Finance and Global Commerce & Culture.
